"Now using shoes instead of pen is becoming popular among Journalists but they are new in this field and need more practice as they always miss the target" says blogger Vasairoad.u00a0
"If the media people starts like this what will be the scope of press conference? Simply throwing shoes at political leaders? Throwing shoes won't be considered good according to Indian Culture," says this blogger named Free SMS MMS.
He feels that if people throwing shoes are rewarded with prizes it can result in more shoe attacks, as a single shoe throwing can give popularity, fame and money.
"Singh clearly did not want to harm the minister. He was sitting in the front row, and all he did was to lob, and not throw, the footwear at the minister. He did that saying he was protesting, but definitely this was not the way to protest. Clearly, a fine line had been breached. A bad day for the media," says blogger Sands of Change, who says he is a journalist.
"I am a journalist, and let me be very candid about this. Journalism, as a profession, though nowadays enjoys quite a bit of glamour, has its own share of unworthy elements. I have been asked many times why certain news items are reported in a particular way, whether there are vested interests at work, etc etc. The shoe attack has quite understandably led to jokes about journalists: "They anyway can't write properly, now we know they can't even throw a shoe properly," adds the blog.
'He got extra shoe'
"Our dear home minister got extra shoe today when a Sikh journalist threw shoe at him in press conference. So Chidambaram entered the elite league of bush and Chinese premier , the only other two leaders of recent time who received this elite gift," says Indiansawaal.u00a0
The blogger says the way Chidambaram dealt with the situation needs to be applauded.
"He remained his usual calm and composed way. He even instructed guards to be gentle to the shoe thrower. Anyways Mr Chidambaram , you dealt entire episode in very mature way," says the blogger.
"Was it right to give the "Shoe" to the poor man Chidambaram ? what the hell he is suppose to do , when ever thing in this country is done on the wishes of Sonia "Gandhi," says blogger What A India.u00a0
"The opinionated fourth estate has found a new medium of expression," says Kirat.u00a0
"To be fair, Jarnail Singh threw his shoe a little to the side of Chidambaram, not at him, and the intention was to protest, and not in any way harm the Home Minister," adds Kirat, adding that the journo became popular overnight.u00a0
"He, in one day, has succeeded in getting himself on prime time TV for more than two hours now, has got out of legal tangle thanks to the Congress' politically minded benevolence and, wait, wait........ has been given Rs. 2 lakhs by the youth wing of the Akali Dal."
